If you have recently purchased a cooling tower, then you might be ready to put it to use in your facility. Cooling towers are great for cooling down equipment to prevent overheating, maintain more comfortable temperatures in your facility, and much more. You might have already purchased your cooling tower, but before you can start using it, you might need to purchase various parts and products. These are some of the different types of cooling tower parts and products that you might need to buy.

Fill Media

Fill media is used inside your cooling tower to help increase the surface area inside your tower. This encourages water and air to interact more, which helps your cooling tower operate more efficiently and effectively. Fill media used to be made primarily from wood, and you can still find wood fill media if that is what you want to use. However, nowadays, polypropylene and PVC are more popular materials for fill media. This is because they can be exposed to water constantly without worrying about rot or other similar issues, and they are affordable materials when used for this purpose. There are splash fill and film fill options for you to choose from.

Cooling Tower Sealants

In order for you to get the best possible performance from your cooling tower, the water and air will need to interact within the cooling tower without leaking out. With a brand new cooling tower, you might not have to worry as much about this leaking, although leaking can still be a problem. However, with older cooling towers, you might find that there are more leaks. Luckily, there are sealants that you can purchase that are designed for use in cooling towers to help provide a good, protective seal.

Cooling Tower Nozzles

You might already know that water is used inside a cooling tower, but you might not be sure of how that water is produced or directed. This is done with cooling tower nozzles, which help with letting out the appropriate amount of water in the right place. Then, the cooling tower has the water that it needs so that it can do its job of cooling.

As you can see, there are a variety of different parts and components that make up an effective cooling tower. If you purchase all of the right parts and components, then you should be able to keep your cooling tower up and running as it should be.
